Seagate ships one-billionth hard drive


Seagate's firs drive, the ST506, held just 5MB of data and cost $1,500, for a cost of $300 per megabyte. Today, a typical Seagate drive may hold 1TB (or 1 million megabytes) and cost just 1/5000th of a cent ($0.0002) per megabyte.
