Amherst College offers more than 800 courses leading to bachelor's degrees in 33 areas of study, including chemistry, psychology, fine arts, astronomy, history, and political science. Founded in 1821, the college enrolls about 1,600 students from nearly all of the states in the US and 40 other countries.
