When we think of American Idol, we think of America’s most loved judges. That is of course Randy, Paula, and Simon, or at least they used to be. Will changing these judges change the show? The talent? Lets hear a little bit about who has replaced the notorious Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul.
Who would have ever thought that replacing the “irreplaceable” Simon Cowell would be America’s very own Jenny from the block, Jennifer Lopez. It is interesting because it has been said that JLO will be a great addition to the team as she “critiques what is right in front of her,” according to executive producer Nigel Lythgoe. This is exactly what they will need without Simon. Lopez has watched the show since it came out so being an artist herself, it shouldn’t be too difficult to evaluate the contestants. It also won’t hurt to have her stunning beauty on camera to attract viewers!
We know that with JLo’s bright smile and Randy’s jokes they can potentially be a group of great judges. So where does Steven Tyler fit in all this? It is funny how Tyler will most likely be the new Paula as Tyler is said “not to have a bad bone in his body.” He will give his honest opinion but at he same time will most likely not say, “you suck” directly to anyone.
Randy Jackson, one of the original three judges, will remain on the show and continue to be a positive influence. Overall these three together will hopefully find a balance just as the judges in the remaining season have.
A key factor for the upcoming season that is being stressed by producer Lythgoe is the use of instruments. If possible, he wants as much of the season to as possible to refrain from using them, as he doesn’t see them as being necessary. We all know that the real talent is in the voice itself, which is what this TV show is trying to showcase.
All fans should be excited and looking forward to a new generation of American Idol with all new judges, talent, and opportunities!
