It has been a year and thousands of fans have been awaiting this day, that is of course, the release of rapper Lil Wayne from his one-year gun sentence in prison. Expected that millions would be tweeting and voicing their excitement, former President Bill Clinton says, ” The guys smart and he’s got abilities, I hope he has the good life now”.
What better note to get released on then a former and well respected leader of our country acknowledging Wayne’s talents. Clinton was interviewed on 96.1 FM’S The Morning Freak Show With Mikey and Big Bob. He claims that he has not been a hip hop fan for too long until his daughter introduced him. After making some “unsmart” comments about the lyrics, his daughter encouraged him to listen to what these rappers have to say. He did just this, and then wished the best upon Weezys release. Clinton also says, ” I hope he’ll never be behind bars again.”
Along with Clinton fans were upset in seeing that his release date on Thursday was set back due to an infraction during his time in which he was caught with headphones and an MP3 player. This is something we could have expected from a superstar rapper! Not to mention he was still stealing the spotlight from behind bars as he contributed to tracks by Eminem and Drake.
Wayne released what he planned to do immediately after his release. He says he “smiled like a child on Christmas” when he arrived his first day in prison and had over 300 letters in the mail. He said he “laughed, cried, and even reasoned” with the letters as he responded to all those he could. Lil Wayne plans to continue responding upon his release as much as he can to show his indescribable appreciation for his fans.
We may not know what to expect next from Weezy, but we can expect it to be great. Maybe we’ll hear Clinton’s name in a future rap, I guess we’ll have to wait and see!
