Sony hasn’t made any official announcements yet, but they said that PlayStation 4 will continue to use optical disks.
Many games created especially for Playstation 4 are already under development, and specialists think that the new console might appear on the market in 2012, according to Yahoo! News. We have no official announcement from Sony at this point.
Experts are saying that this doesn’t mean that the new console is ready, but games developers have already been notified about the technology they should use so that their games will be Playstation 4 compatible and so they can be released on the market in time.
Playstation was released in 1994, Playstation 2 in 2000, Playstation 3 in 2006, which means that the news regarding the release of Playstation 4 in 2012 is somewhat believable.
If Playstation 4 is going to be released in the following years, it remains to be seen. What’s certain is that the president of Sony Computer Entertainment, Kaz Hirai, said in a recent interview that the new console will continue to use optical disks, even if right now the trend is to download games directly from the Internet.
Really looking forward to the PS4
