The new social network released by Apple, Ping, has managed to get 1 million users in 48 hours since the release.
More than 1 million users signed up for the new music social network released by Apple, in only 48 hours since it’s official release.
Apple announced that almost one third of the users that downloaded iTunes 10 also signed up for Ping.
” It is a social network dedicated entirely to music. We think it will become popular very fast because 160 million people can use it ” said Steve Jobs, the boss of Apple.
The new service is available through iTunes, but also through the iTunes application for iPhone and iPod Touch.
Ping allows users to see photographs and videos of their favorite artists and to receive concerts information.
Also, Ping users can connect online with their friends to talk about albums, songs and to make recommendations.
“It’s just like Facebook and Twitter are uniting themselves with iTunes” said Stevs Jobs about the Ping concept.
