The new Google service is going to bring the Internet on TV screens. The announcement comes 1 week after the release of the new Apple TV version.
Google TV will be released, this Autumn, in the United States, and next year Google TV is going to be available world wide, said the Executive Director of the Google, Eric Schmidt.
The announcement comes 1 week after the Big Dog of Apple, Steve Jobs, said revealed a miniature version of the Apple TV, which allows people to rent movies and TV shows and to watch videos on YouTube. It seams that Television is the new battle field between the two companies.
Schmidt said that Google TV, which will allow surfing the Internet with the help of the TV, will be free, and that Google will work along with many other programs producers to bring the service to consumers.
Google TV will run on a software written by Google, and they will use hardware created by other companies. In the US, Google TV is going to be released on three products: a HDTV set, a Blu-Ray Player from Sony, and a set-top box from Logitech. The content will use Flash Player from Adobe. It will look like a simplified compute interface, with many widgets that will offer different information.
