This is how Internet Explorer 9 will look like ( probably )

Share

We have talked a lot over the last few months about Internet Explorer 9 and the truth is we don’t know many things about the new features it will bring, nor about the web sites loading speed and nothing regarding other important aspects of a web browser.

However, we now have a first image that shows us the the next Internet Explorer version will look like.

Firstly, you need to know that this image is not an official image provided by Microsoft. It was just “leaked” on the Internet by Microsoft Russia. Officially, Microsoft hasn’t confirmed the image, nor have they denied it.

But, following the idea that the image is real we can notice a Chrome-like tendency of Internet Explorer. Just like Firefox 4, Internet Explorer 9 is inspired by Google Chrome regarding the space. From the surface of the web browser the component elements are gathered together very tightly to offer a bigger space for web sites.

From the image below we can notice the following:

- the address and search bars were united into a single one

- the tabs are placed near the address bar

- the text menus in the right side of the bar were replaced with the home, bookmarks and settings buttons

- the status bar is gone

Overall, it doesn’t look bad! I don’t know however what the role of the Home button is. It is one of the very least used features, which might be completely removed!

The first Internet Explorer 9 beta version is announced for September 15. Then we can test it and make a better opinion about what the newest web browser from Microsoft represents.

Are you serious? Do you not go to your home search page very often?

I like that, always navigating forward. Like a car with no brakes or reverse gear. Never look back!
