Mafia II, the gangsters story from the 40′s is already available for PS3, Xbox 30 and PC’s running on the Windows operating system.

Although very little time has passed since the release of the game, we can already read some first impressions on the internet, impressions from gamers, about the Mafia II game.

So, firstly, Mafia II seams to make itself noticed by the attention developers paid to details. Developers have managed to recreate the atmosphere of the 40′s and 50′s, starting with cars, building and streets and continuing with bars, clothing or the gestures of the characters. This way they managed to bring the fictive city Empire Bay to live!

” It’s very important to get the impression that the game was especially created to drive around the city, when you are driving a car, and when you start to shoot to get the impression that you are on a battle field” said Jack Scalici, Creative Director at 2K games.

Mafia II manages to brake apart from the long string of shooting missions in the second part, and our hero, Vita Scaleto has the mission to save a few friends from an abandoned slaughter house. He will make his way in through the sewer, will sneak, avoid enemies and will complete the mission. The scene is amplified by a few comic connotations regarding the smell in the sewer.

It seams that the music in the game was very carefully chosen. You can listing to John Lee Hooker, Dean Martin,Rosemary Clooney, Duke Ellington or Buddy Holly while driving your car around the city.

Producers had more than 1500 songs available, but they have chosen only 120.

What is the most captivating however is the story of Vito. Born in Sicily, Vito comes in the United States along with his family. After he fights in the Second World War, he returns to Empire Bay. To make money and to pay the debts of his family, Vito chooses to make a name for himself in the world of gangsters.
