Microsoft announced the date of September 15 for the release of the first Internet Explorer 9 Beta.
IE9 is the most web standards compatible version in the history of Microsoft. Among the new things we have to mention the extended HTML 5 support, which can be translated through CSS3, XHTML parsing and video and audio tags that are using the standard codecs of the industry. ( H.264 / MPEG 4 and Mp3/AAC ).
Also, the new version comes with a new script engine, Chakra, which will improve performance and speed. Also, Microsoft wants that through Internet Explorer 9 to be able to deliver web applications with extended functionality and better graphics. Microsoft didn’t said if there will be a section beta version or when they will release the final version of Internet Explorer 9.
But, if we were to consider the fact that Microsoft released Internet Explorer 8 during the Mix conference in March 2009, we can assume that Internet Explorer 9 will be released during that same conference in 2011. Microsoft hopes that through it’s new web browser to correct the decrease of popularity they suffered this year.
Currently, IE has a 60% market share, after at the beginning of the year they went down to 59.95%.
The question is if IE will manage to stop the evolution of Firefox and the migration of users to Google Chrome.
According to Microsoft, since March until present day, 2.5 million copies of the review platform were downloaded.
