Google, the biggest and most popular search engine in the world, has purchased Slide, the online games operator, in their efforts to keep up with Facebook in the social networks and entertainment market.
Slide is known for their games in which users can raise a virtual pet, or they can send virtual gifts to friends. Close sources to the transaction said that the purchase price is at around 200 million dollars.

Google has started to complete more and more with Facebook, the biggest social network in the world, but also with Twitter. Both companies attract a big number of online advertising suppliers, endangering the main source of revenue of Google. For this reason, Google makes acquisitions and supplements their services in the social networks market.
