eBay’s online payment service is in talks with Google regarding the implementation of Paypal for purchasing applications for Android.
Users of Android smart phones, like Droid X from Motorola or Droid Incredible from HTC will thus be able to purchase applications with the help of a Paypal account, by the end of this year.
Currently, clients are paying for these applications through the Google Checkout payment system, which accepts payments by credit cards.
The implementation of the Paypal payment system might offer Google a new payment method for applications developers, making them more willing to create new Android applications. Although Android phones started to dominate the applications market. However Apple is the leader of the market with more than 225.000 applications, compared to only 70.000 Android applications.
