Ultraviolet for movies, anytime and anywhere

A group of media and IT companies will soon begin to test a system that will allow us to watch the movies we boy wherever we might be, regardless of their formats or any other technical obstacles.

Just like the ATM, the account we hold will follow us everywhere, regardless of the type of machine we use.

The project runs under the name of UltraViolet, and some of the most famous names behind the project are Warner Bros and Microsoft. The concept is about creating some digital lockers to store the proof of buying DVD’s, Blu-Ray disks or movie downloads. When a consumer purchases a movie online or from the store, then that consumer can watch it anywhere, including on the mobile phone or on TV. The purpose of this project is to increase the number of movie sales, which currently only reaches 4% through removing the problem of the movie format.

Besides Warner Bros and Microsoft, companies like Toshiba are also part of the project. Disney and Apple refused to make contributions to this project.
