The project has been conceived in 2008, and it was supposed to be produced by Jagged Films with the support of William Monahan, who also wrote the movie script for “The Departed”, directed by Martin Scorsese.

Director Martin Scorsese and musician Mick Jagger will create a “rock’n'roll” show for HBO. The project is named “History of Music”.

The TV Show directed by Scorsese and Jagger tells the story of two friends that worked for more than 40 years in the music industry and follows their memories from the R&B age until the contemporary hip-hop.

Martin Scorsese and Mick Jagger have previously worked at the “Shine a Light” documentary, which presented two concerts of the The Rolling Stones band  that took place in 2006 in New York.

This time, Scorsese will directed the Mick Jagger project, History of Music, after a script created by Terence Winter ( The writer of the Soprano’s TV show ) with whom he works on another project for HBO, “Boardwalk Empire” drama ( the most expensive HBO tv show up to now ). The show will have it’s premiere on September 19.
