How TO buy a mobile phone advice

Many people realize, even the most skillful of people, that after some time, the mobile phone that you thought was so good when you purchased it does no longer satisfy you. There might be many reasons for which you are now unsatisfied with your mobile phone that you yourself have picked. Picking a mobile phone, although it doesn’t look like such a hard thing, should be done after a “serious investigation”.

Basically, there are two reasons why you end up being unhappy with your mobile phone shortly after you purchase it. One reason might be the shortcomings that you are not able to notice only after a bit if time.

Another type of reason is when you buy a phone without documenting yourself before. For example, after a few days you notice that writing on the keyboard is not very comfortable. This is the type of problem that you would have been able to notice right away if  you might have paid more attention before buying the phone.

Picking a mobile phone to fully satisfy you or at least to come close to your expectations depends on many things. There are however some few principles that are generally valid.

Do you have an internet connection? Then use it!

The first step is research. The internet is the perfect environment for this task. With the exception of exotic models, you will be able to find plenty of information about most mobile phones models available.

You can do research by:

- looking at images

- following video presentations on YouTube or similar web sites

- reading articles from mobile phones web sites

- asking the opinion of other people on forums or social networks.

Physical Contact

Doing research on the Internet is not enough. Some aspects you will not be able to notice only by having physical contact with that respective phone. If one of your friends do not have these model already, you can always walk into a mobile phones store.

In  the store you will be able to see the real dimensions, weight or keyboard. Also in the store you will be able to directly notice the quality of the display and construction.

Mobile phones stores usually let you test the phones they have on display. It would be ideal to check the exterior aspect and also to check the software side of the phone. For this purpose, you will have to pick a store that allows you to do that, knowing that many stores have on display only samples that cannot be turned on.

Important aspects

Many people only consider the design when picking a mobile phone. It’s true that it’s very important to like the design of a mobile phone. But it’s a big mistake to ignore the other aspects that define a good mobile phone.

The aspects you need to consider when picking a mobile phone are:

Design and construction: You have to consider the shape, dimensions, weight, display, keyboard and the quality of the construction in general.

Technical specifications – well many things are placed into this category, like the connectivity options ( Wi-Fi, 3G, BlueTooth, etc ), quality of the screen and types of connections ( audio jack, PC connecting, etc ).

Software – this is one of the most important aspects that people tend to ignore. You have to choose an operating system that fits your needs. For example, if you want to have the possibility to install different applications, you have to focus your attention on mobile phones that have a big applications data base. The best phones from the point of view are iPhone phones, or mobile phones running on Google Android operating system.

Autonomy – unfortunately we have to make some compromises in what autonomy is concerned. If you want a top smart phone, with a screen that supports a big resolution you will have to be happy with a modest resolution. If you want a higher autonomy, then you will have to orient yourself to a more modest phone.

Subjectivity plays a major role in picking a mobile phone. Each one of us appreciates differently the importance of the points above. Some focus more on design, while others pay a bigger attention to the importance of the possibilities offered by the operating system.

Regardless of our preferences however, the principle of research is still valid. It’s a mistake to buy a phone, or any other product without doing some research first. Especially now, when we have so many details on the Internet, it would be stupid to pick a mobile phone without being aware of what it can do.

  1. Purchasing any product without adequate research would lead to disappointment and even more so with a mobile phone as mobiles have become an important part of our lives.
