The Dallas TV Show requires no presentation I think. It was one of the best shows on TV a long time ago and we rapidly fell in love with the actors that played the main characters. Linda Gray and Victoria Principal or Sue Ellen and Pamela, are two actresses that continued to fascinate us.
Linda Gray was born in 1940 in Santa Monica, California. Before becoming an actress, Linda was a model and here legs appeared on the poster of the The Graduate movie in 1967.
Linda Gray started her career in cinema in the 70′s, with small roles in shows like Marcus Welby, M.D. and McCloud. In 1978 she received the role of Sue Ellen in the Dallas TV Show in which she starred until 1989. After that, she appeared in TV movies like “JR Returns” in 1996 and “War of the Ewings” in 1998, sequels of the show. Linda Gray was nominated at the Grammy Awards for her role in Dallas, in 1981.
After Dallas she had smaller roles in other shows, but also important roles in tv movies like Bonanza: The Return, Melrose Place and Models Inc.
Linda Gray returned to soap operas in 2004 when she starred in The Bold and the Beautiful and in 2008 she had a small role in 90210, a sequel of the famous tv show Beverly Hills 90210.
Linda Gray was married to Ed Thrasher for 21 years, she has two kids and two grandchildren.
Recently, the actress traveled to Nicaragua to shoot a documentary about the health problems of women and children, as part of her role as United Nations Good Will Ambassador.
Victoria Principal was born in 1950 in Fukuoka, Japan. Her grandparents on her father’s side were Italian and her mother was born in Georgia, even though she had British heritage. Victoria’s father was a sergeant in the United States Army so the family traveled around the world. When they lived in England, Victoria studied at the Royal Bale Academy.
Victoria acted for the first time when she was five, she appeared in a tv commercial. She wanted to study medicine, however a serious accident made her drop out of school and she drastically changed her live, moving to New York to become an actress and in 1971 she made it to Los Angeles.
In 1972 she received the first role of her career in movie “The Life and Times of Judge Ray Bean” starring Paul Newman. Paul Newman won the Golden Globe for Youngest actor.
In 1977, Aaron Spelling offered her a role in the pilot episode of Fantasy Island. In 1978 she got her most famous role, the one of Pamela Ewing in Dallas, and in 1983 she won the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a TV Show for playing Pamela.
Victoria left Dallas in 1987 and she starred in many tv movies. She went back to soap operas in 2000, with a role in Titans show, produced by Aaron Spelling.
Victoria created a natural cosmetics company, Principal Street and she wrote a few books about beauty, health and hair care.
Victoria Principal was married to Christopher Skinner and she also had a relationship with Andy Gibb ( Bee Gees ).
In her free time she does charity work. On June 2, 2010, she donated 200.000 dollars for cleaning the oil out of the Mexican Bay.
I think it’s more than obvious who has aged better. I don’t feel there was anything even remotely sexy about Victoria Principal in the first place, but Linda always had the sex appeal. Linda has aged naturally and beautifully, like the gorgeous creature she always has been.
Victoria has sadly caved to too much plastic surgery. Must be hard for her to see how good her once rival looks!
