More than 1 year has passed since Bluetooth 3.0 was released and yet we haven’t seen to many phones to offer Bluetooth 3 support. Although it provided a significant speed increase, it seams that manufacturers will jump directly to BlueTooth 4.0.
The new version will not bring a such a big increase in speed. However, the main feature is the low energy consumption. With this advantage, BlueTooth 4.0 will bring a plus of autonomy to devices that are using BlueTooth extensively.
Not only phones will benefit from the low energy consumption. Many other devices like medical equipments will fully enjoy this new feature.
Also, Bluetooth 4.0 improves the compatibility between phones of different brands. Cases in which the phones from specific manufacturers will not connect or transfer is breaking up, will be significantly reduced.
Once the specifications are finished, not long will pass until the first devices with BlueTooth 4.0 will be available on the market. Maybe by the end of this year we will be able to see the first mobile phones with this new version of Bluetooth.
