Reruns of Seinfeld = 2,7 billion dollars gross!

The famous tv show about “nothing”, Seinfeld, grossed a lot of money in the 12 years since the production has ended. It looks like the show earned, according to Time Warner, no less than 2.7 billion dollars only from the fees from reruns.

So, Seinfeld becomes the most profitable TV show in the history of television.

The information that was made public by Time Warner raises questions about the fortunes of stars Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David, who warn a percentage of everything the show makes. The New York Times said that the total sum received by the two might be in the hundreds of millions of dollars. The other three main members of the show, Jason Alexander, Michael Richards and Julia Louis-Dreyfus are not entitled to a percentage of the gross.

With 180 episodes produced over 9 nine years, a simple calculation shows us that every episode has brought around 14 million dollars.

But industry analysts claim that there are a lot of chances that Seinfeld might be beaten in this category by The Simpsons, who is now celebrating 20 years since the release of the first episode.
