It looks like Disney’s decision to put on screen the series of Prince of Persia games, created by Ubisoft, was wise and it now pays off. And this is because the Prince of Perisa: The Sands of Time is now officially the the movie that recorded the biggest box office success of a movie based on a video game.
The movie grossed until now more than 300 million dollars and it seams that it won’t stop here.
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time has managed to beat Lara Croft: Tom Rider, a movie that, despite not being so well awarded by the critics, has managed at that time to gross 274 million dollars.
It seams that in the last few years, the movie industry has started to get inspired more and more from the virtual universe, and the most important movies based on video games are Mortal Kombat, Doom, Lara Croft, Resident Evil, Max Payne, Hitman and Silent Hill.
