NASA released an application with the help of which astronauts can send in space their name along with a picture. The application is dedicated to space exploration enthusiasts which do not have the financial possibility to go to the International Space Station.

To get your photo in outer space, you have to go to the faceinspace.nasa.gov, download the picture and then choose between one of the last two space missions of the american shuttles that will transport the souvenir.

NASA will remove from circulation the Discovery and Endeavour shuttles, after their last two flights, which will occur in September and November.

Those who will send their pictures, will be able to follow, after the release of the shuttles, the course of that that contains their name and photo. At the end of the mission, participants will receive a certificate that will demonstrate their “intergalactic travel”.

The new application can be used for free and is part of NASA tradition of sending, from time to time, less serious objects into space.

Among these objects, that were already sent to space, we mention the records of the Beatles, signings of some students, Gene RoddenBerry ashes, the creator of Star Trek.
