Below you can see the first to official images from The Rum Diary, the movie that makes Johnny Depp return to the Caribbeans, but in a totally different way.
10 afters after the Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Depp comes back in the universe of writer Hunter S. Thompson, with the The Rum Diary movie. Written in 1959, the novel was only released in 1998.
Johnny Depp will play Paul Kemp, a bored New York journalist in the 50′s, and goes to Puerto Rico, where he starts to write for a small local paper, this after he starts to drink a lot of rum, which also inspired the title of the movie.
The adventures of the main character in Puerto Rico will also include a crazy attraction for Chenault ( Amber Heard ), the wife of a business man played by Aaron Eckhart. In the movie Giovanni Ribisi, Richard Jenkings and Amaury Nolasco also appear.
The european premiere of the movie will take place in England, on September 24.
