As it was expected, the 3D madness is spreading. TV’s were just the first step. For manufacturers it does not matter that 3D content is not so available. What’s important for them is being the first that come up with something new. This is how the first phone with 3D screen was born.
This premiere comes, of course, from Samsung. As usual, the Korean manufacturer pushes the limit lately, and it’s without a doubt, one of the most active mobile phones manufacturer today.
The phone’s name is SCH-W960 AMOLED 3D. It is equipped with a AMOLED touchscreen, 3.2 inch with a WQVGA resolution. The photo camera has 3.2 mega pixels. Technologies like HSDPA, BlueTooth or microSD slot are also there. It also has a TV tunner.
As for the 3D screen you have to know that it doesn’t require the use of goggles. It has a hardware button to activate/deactivate the 3D effect, effect that once activated is visible to the human eye. We don’t know how good is this effect on a phone screen without the use of goggles.
The bad news is that the SCH-W960, the first 3D screen phone will only be available on the Korean market. Well, for starters. Eventually, this 3D phone will also be available on the markets world wide.
