Samsung Electronics announced the release of the fastest external hard disk in the STORY Station portfolio – Samsung STORY Statin 3.0 with SupperSpeed USB 3.0
The 3.5 inch external hard disk offers a 10 times faster speed compared to the old model with USB 2.0, which makes it the ideal storage solution, in only a fraction of a second.
STORY Station 3.0 was developed for advanced users that need a very fast transfer solution and information security, without sacrificing the design. The SuperSpeed USB 3.0 interface offers a maximum transfer speed at 5 GB / second, unlike the USB 2.0 interface that only provided 480 MB / second. Users can now transfer 4 MB of music or images in approximately 0.02 seconds, and a HD movie in only 2.3 minutes. The new interface is compatible with 2.0 and 1.1 interfaces.
The STORY Station products were awarded during the iF 2009 at the “product design” category. The minimalist design was inspired by retro electronic models and combines the gri case of aluminum with the red logo. The materials of the case is made conforming with the requests of the RoHS.
Created conforming with the latest environmental rules, STORY STation 3.0 has 3 features of saving energy: the idle mode, speed and suspend. The stand-by mode is EUP compliant.
The STORY Station 3.0 external hard disk is available in models up from 1 TB to 2 TB. The STORY products series offers a wide range of products dedicated to storing data. STORY Station USB 2.0, STORY Station Plus with e-SATA and USB 2.0 and the most recent STORY Station 3.0.The preinstalled software applications are Samsung Auto-Backup, SecretZone and SafetyKey for encrypting information and password protect files.
