The Sony VAIO P Notebook is not the most powerful notebook on the market, however those that are looking for portability they will surely find it on this new gadget that has been announced by Sony. Actually, it’s a refresh of the P Series, a some sort of facelift, with new features and colors.

VAIO P series is the first notebook from Sony with incorporated GSP and a new Digital Compass, which makes it a good orientation tool for people that spend a lot of time on the road.

Also, VAIO P is the first Sony notebook with incorporated accelerometer, that responds to physical movements. So, users only have to slowly move the device in order to navigate through photos or to view a PDF document or to browser back and forward through web pages. Also, the sensor can tell when the computer is turned upside down and automatically rearranges the page.

Sony also added a few innovative features on this notebook, among which we mention the central trackball, completed by an additional touchpad and mouse buttons that are placed near the screen.

Sony also made some hardware changes. The new VAIO P has an Intel Atom Z540 Processor, DDR2 SDRAM 2 GB memory and 64 GB SSD Drive. The 8 inch display has a 1600×768 native resolution and the graphics is rendered through an Intel GMA 500 video board. The battery autonomy is five hours. The notebook weights around 600 grams.

The new Sony VAIO P will be available next month however the price is unknown at this moment.
