Robert de Niro will be part of the The Killer Elite thrille cast, directed by Gary McKendy, according to Variety. Jason Statham and Clive Owen will also star in this movie that has a 66 million dollars budget.
The movie will be inspired by the Ranulph Finnes novel, ” The Feather Man” released back in 1993. The novel tells the story of a group of agents that must take down a cell of assassins.
In the The Killer Elite movie, De Niro will play the role of the mentor of the character played by Statham which is kidnapped. From here on out, a series or events will occur that are meant to save him.
Dominic Purcell, Yvonne Strahovski, Ben Mendelsohn, Aden Young and Firass Dirani are also part of the cast.
Gary McKendry was nominated at the Oscars in 2005 for the Everything in This Country Must short film.
