Iron Man 2, released on the US on May 6 has grossed more than 50 million dollars only in the first day. More than 7 million dollars came from the Thursday projections alone, when movie theaters proved to be too small for the crowd.
Even so, Reuters announces that Iron Man 2 doesn’t have a chance to beat the record set by The Dark Knight in 2008. The movie grossed 158 million dollars in the first weekend.
Iron Man 2 is not so bad tho. Released world wide before the US premiere, the movie directed by Jon Favreau already grossed 200 million dollars, so much than the generous budget of 170 million dollars.
Estimates for the first weekend in the US are set at around 130 million dollars.
