Google announced that they plan to launch Chrome Web Store, which will be a online web applications store. A preview presented during a conference suggests the fact that the portal will allow users to preview applications, read or write reviews, add ratings to the content and report bugs.
The applications listed in Chrome Web Store will be standard web applications with will only work from Google Chrome Browser. Users will be able to add a shortcut in the browser so that they can access the application quickly.
The store will host free applications but also paid ones, with an open system that will allow users to add applications without approval from Google. The payment will be made in a similar manner as the Android Market.
Chrome Web Store will be available for the Linux, Mac and Windows versions of the Chrome Browser and of course also for Chrome OS.
