Drew Barrymore will direct a movie about the Wizard of Oz

Drew Barrymore will direct a sequel of the popular Wizard of Oz story. Surrender Dorothy is an older project in which Drew should have starred in.

Considering that in the mean time Drew made her debut as a director, with Whip It, Barrymore decided to direct the new project.

The script of the movie was written by Zach Helm ( Stranger than Fiction ) and tells the story of Dorothy’s great-greatdaughter that has to use the red shoes again in order to save the world in Oz.
