Barack Obama talked about the impact of technologies like iPod and XBOX, saying that the information is now a diversion that puts new pressure on democracy.

The US President, who often criticizes journalists and media companies that they prefer superficial media coverage than real issues, said that education is the key of progress.

“Enter a media environment that bombs us with all kind of information and exposes all kinds of arguments, and some of them are not even so truthful” said Obama in his trip at Hampton University, Virginia.

” With iPod and iPad and Xbox, Playstation – i don’t even know how they work – information becomes entertainment, a diversion, a form of having fun instead of being a source of power, a way of emancipation” he also said.

” All of these do not put pressure only on you, but also on our country and on democracy”.

The american President warns the world that it’s time for a change.

” We can’t stop these changes, but we can adapt to them” he said, adding that american employees are in a constant struggle with the foreign employees that are very well educated.

“Education can fortify you, like older generations did, to respect the demands of your times”.
