John Steinbeck, is one of the most appreciated american writers that lived at the beginning of the 20th century. When the United States as hit by the big economical crises, Steinbeck, along with other writers, was barely making ends meat. They all got lucky with a program started by President Roosevelt in 1935, through which 6000 intellectuals received material help to develop their literary creations. Steinbeck wrote 27 amazing books, that rapidly made him one of the most loved authors in all times. In 1962 he received the Nobel Prize.

Who was Quentin Tarantino in the ’80s? A second rate actor that begged producers to include him in at least a small part, in obscure movies. From time to time he managed to get a role, with a few lines in some movies, other than that Tarantino wondered Hollywood with thousands of ideas in his head. In 1988, when he was only 25 years old, he starred in the Golden Girls sitcom, imitating Elvis. He cashed in 3000 dollars for his work and then worked hard for the True Romance and Reservoir Dogs movie scripts. Insisting, Quentin was sponsored and managed to direct his first movies that were received well by the audience, but in the same time they also god some bad critics. Then Pulp Fiction came and everybody was speechless. About Inglorious Basterds we are not going to say anything. If you have’t seen it.. then I am only going to ask you this: What are you waiting for ?!

In 2008, Susan Boyle appeared in the Britain’s Got Talent show, produced by Simon Cowell. Even if Susan didn’t won that edition of the show, she released the album I Dreamed a Dream one year later than sold in more than 3.000.000 copies. Until appearing in that show, Susan was unemployed, staying at home to look after he sick mother and volunteering to the local church.

When Harry Potter madness started with the first volume entitled ” Harry Potter & The Philosopher’s Stone” J.K. Rowling literally managed to win over the world, becoming the best sold author of all time. She cashed in more than 1 billion pounds for the first book, but things were about to change. Harry kept appearing in new stories, movies, games and coloring books. When she worked on the first book for children and teenagers, JK Rowling was unemployed. Her live was a bit weird, many people were saying that she has serious mental problems. But, above all, one thing about her we can say for certain: she has a prime hand writing skill.

TV legend from all over the world only has one name: Larry King! Born on November 19, 1933, Larry King begun his radio career at 24 years old, at a local radio station in Miami. The death of his father, when Larry was only 9, influenced his life a lot.

After he graduated from high school he started to work, he hot a job at a small radio station in Miami, however hot as a host, but as a janitor. The opportunity to really start working as a radio man was offered to him at the same radio station in Miami.

On May 1, 1955, Larry King stars his first radio show. Because his real name, Larry Harvey Zeiger was too difficult to remember, the radio’s manager recommended him to take the Larry King alias.

The first interview was with a waiter, then he did the Bobby Darin interview. Even since the first interview, to the 40.000 interviews he did in his entire career.. there only was one step.

In 1971, Larry King had some problems with the Law, being arrested for theft. He was accused that he asked businessman Louis Elwood Wolfson 48.000 dollars to intervene with the authorities to review his sentence. Larry King didn’t returned the many and it was accused. However, he did not spent time in jail.

Larry King’s career was hurt following this incident. He was fired from the Radio Station and during 3 years he worked different jobs, as a PR representatives or publisher at a publication. After 3 years of pause, Larry King returns, on TV, as a sports commentator and also in Radio with a few daily shows.

Since 1985, he hosts the Larry King Live show at CNN and will continue to do so until 2011. Larry transformed his clothing style into a real brand. The moments in which he does not hair his massive glasses are very rare.

Larry King is a real encyclopedia. His interviews have become study material in Universities  . His approach style, very intelligent, uncomfortable but funny attracted some of the most important names in the last 23 years: John F. Kennedy, Jimmy Carter, Gerald Ford, Mihail Gorbaciov, Bill si Hillary Clinton, Marlon Brando, George Bush, Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, Al Gore, Audrey Hepburn, Martin Luther King Jr., Monica Lewinsky, Madonna, Paul McCartney, Al Pacino, Nancy si Ronald Reagan, Eleanor Roosevelt, Frank Sinatra, Barbra Streisand, Tony Blair, Jerry Seinfeld, Vladimir Putin, Elizabeth Taylor, and a lot more!

His 50 years spent in the spotlight could not pass by without awards. He received Two Peabody Awards for the best radio show and the best TV show. 10 CableAce awards for best talk show host, In 2002 Larry King was declared the best man in radio and tv from all times, being the only person present in both tops.

And if Larry King was very active in his professional life, hosting thousands of show, events and interviews but also writing books, he was very active in his personal life too. He was married 7 times with 6 women!

Larry David, you probably know him from the “Whatever works” comedy, is among other things the co-author of Seinfeld, along with Jerry Seinfeld. Larry was unemployed for a long time, choose to work for a few months and then being fired to receive welfare. This way, he concentrated his efforts on stand-up comedy and met Jerry Seinfeld in a tour. When NBC proposed Seinfeld to produce together a TV show, Jerry did not hesitate in contacting his new friend. The result? well, one of the best comedy tv shows of all time!
