As soon as we install an operating system, the first thing we do is to change it’s default settings in order to adapt it to our needs. Among these settings there also are the ones for Windows Update, which we can set as soon as the system is finished installing or after the computer restarts itself because of the automatic updates.
How do we change the settings for Windows Update in Windows 7 ?
For all of you who were Windows XP fans years at a row and just recently stop using it in favor of Windows 7, changing the default system settings can be a bit complicated because of the major differences of the two operating systems. If you want to change your Windows update settings but did not managed to find out how to do this on your own, you can follow the steps below:
1. Open Control Panel and click on System and Security
2. In System and Security open Windows Update and click on Change Settings (panel in the left )
3. In the opened Window you can change the settings for important updates and for the recommended ones, who can download the updates and if you receive or not updates or information about the Microsoft applications installed on your system.
Also, if you want to uninstall an update that installed without your permission, you can do this by following these steps:
In Windows Update click on View Update History, then open Installed Updates ( or go to Control Panel > Program > Program and Features, then click on View Installed Updates in the left panel of the window )
