Site loading speed will affect Google SERP Rankings

After reading numerous rumors on the majority of web master forums about the fact that Google SERP’s are influenced by the site’s loading time, Google makes a new step and confirms this on their official blog: http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2010/04/using-site-speed-in-web-search-ranking.html

This states that based on many internal statistics they reached the conclusion that supports this decision – online users spend more time on sites with that load fast and they usually close sites that take too long to load. This is why all Google’s projects load very fast so it’s only normal that our web sites should load fast too.

This is a wise decision. and it was expected by all web masters.

Also, Google recommends other applications that follow the same purpose. You can find them on their official blog using the link above. You have to say that this change hasn’t affected serp’s very much, only 1% of all sites owned by Google, which is not a reason to worry.
