Leica V Lux 20, the first compact photo camera with superzoom from Leica

The german specialists from Leica have announced the V-Lux 20 model, their first compact photo camera with superzoom. The new Leica Camera has 12x optical zoom, 12.1 Mega pixels sensor but also HD video capabilities ( 720p ), plus GPS tagging for the exact recording of the place where a photo is taken.

The camera technical specifications are similar to those of the Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS7 camera. Both cameras have CCD 1/2.33in sensors with 14.5 million pixels, LEICA DC-VARIO ELMAR 4.1 – 49.2mm / 3.3-4.9 ASPH lenses with 12x optical zoom, focusing range of 25-3000 mm, ISO sensibility between 80-1600 and a 3inch display.

Also, the Leica V-Lux 20 has an integrated image stabilizer, facial recognition feature, smart exposure and automated modes. The memory card is SDXC and connectivity is ensured by USB 2.0, HDMI and Av out. Leica V Lux 20 will be delivered with Adobe Photoshop Elements  8 and will cost around $700.
