According to Slashfilm, James Cameron has had a meeting with some people over at NASA regarding a 3D movie on Mars! Right on the surface of the planet that is so close to Earth.

The Pasadena Star News magazine reveals the details of a meeting between Cameron and NASA officials who weren’t disturbed by the director’s proposal of placing a 3D Camera on the next vehicle that will investigate the surface of the Mars planet. TheĀ  vehicle that will be sent on Mars in 2011 is name Curiosity.

The 3D camera will be positioned on top of the vehicle’s antenna and will record with a 10 frames per second speed.

Right now it is unclear if the director will use the images in a documentary, but chancesĀ  are that the materials to remain exclusive to NASA are minimal.

Right now the company Malin Space Science Systems is working hard to create a 3D camera light enough to work on Mars, and not to make Curiosity’s job harder. Curiosity’s mission is to bring new information regarding the colonial possibilities of the planet.
