Usually, when we create a backup or when we free our hard drive space, the most cheaper way to do that is to burn the data on disks. The only thing that is left to do in this case is to chose a burning application that suits our needs. Here’s a list of 8 burning software that are free and good to use.

Until now i haven’t used this software and it was a good surprise because it has a lot of good features: file and folder burning, backup and restore, writing and copying ( ripping ) music, video files burning in DVD compatible formats, images burning, disk erasing, etc.

The application requires free registering after you use it for 10 days. Some of you may like it because it offers some many features. For this reason, some of you may hate it and would rather use something more lighter, with the most common features.
CDBurnerXP
It’s a really popular application that has some of the basic features required for burning disks: data burning, audio burning, iso burning, copying and erasing disks. I’ve used it before and I still use it because of it’s ease of use.

Deep Burner
The features that this software offers are not something very extraordinary: data burning, audio burning, ISO burning, disk erasing, but what makes it special is it’s simplicity and the fact that it also has a portable version.
It is my favorite because it’s very fast and portable. And when I say fast i am referring to the fact that since you open an application and you select the burning options it takes very less time.
InfraRecorder
With InfraRecorder you can write data disks, audio disks, video disks but you can also copy risks and create images which you can later burn on other disks. I have only recently discovered this application and I am glad I did.
Infrarecorder
The interface is not very attractive however it offers support for many languages and features are very well organized. The good part about it is that the application and features are highly configurable.
ImgBurn
With ImgBurn you can write data disks, you can create ISO images and it offers detailed information about the disks that will be burned.
This burning application is recommended to people who want to set up many parameters, because it offers a great deal of settings. This is not necessarily a good thing, because in my opinion it complicates things and a more novice user might find it hard to use.
ImgBurn
This application can also be found in Portable version, and it offers support for many languages, however the language file must be installed separately.
BurnAware Free
The features of this application are structured based on the type of disks it can burn ( CD, DVD, Bluray ) and you can burn data disks, bootable disks, audio disks, mp3 disks, you can copy images files, you can see details about the disks that can be burned or erased.
BurnAware Free might have been more useful if it had multi-language support. Anyway, people used with Nero should find this software easy to use.

This is an application that is specialized only with writing ISO images on disks. Although it comes in an instable format we recommend you use the portable version, you simply have to download the application and then you can use it immediately to write ISO images on Disks. It’s compatible with ISO, IMG.
The advantages of this applications were the fact that it’s specialized in writing images on disks and the fact that you can set many burning parameters. Considering the fact that it’s also portable and requires low disk space you can keep it on your computer for when you have the need to use it.

Explore & Burn
The main advantage of this application is the selection of information that are about to be burned directly from Explorer however with the lack of advanced options. If it had multi-language support it would have been very helpful for less advanced users.
This application is not really recommended because it’s not very configurable, however for the sake of diversity we have decided to include it in this top, because there are people out there who prefer a burning application structured this way.
