Organized Crime, drug trafficking and daily kidnappings have pushed the Mexican authorities to extreme measures: up to 30.000.000 people might be disconnected from the mobile networks, if they do not record their number and confirm their identity.

The deadline is by the end of this week. This way, authorities hope that at least they can slow down criminals. The plan is however a compromise, only for the short term and easy to attack.

Members of the underworld could easily report other identities. Who and how can verify the authenticity of the data, especially when dealing with pre-pay cards and not subscriptions.
