The iPhone applications store, App Store, is popular because it offers users many useful applications at a low price or even free, the majority of these cost around 99 cents.

Besides these cheep application, there are some that are very expensive, with a price range over $500.

Last year, the most expensive application we could find on the App Store was iRa Pro: a dashboard that can be used to access and control surveillance cameras and the price was $900. ” Although it was a pretty spicy prices we have sold many copies of the application” said Alex Bratton, CEO at Lextech Labs, the company that developed the application.

” For many companies, this application is very affordable” he said, adding that the application targets especially companies that are handling security for companies, government organuzations or universities, and run more than half a million dollars. ” For them, this application which costs $900 is just a small chunk of what they pay to do business” also said Bratton.

However, iRa Pro is not the most expensive application development for iPhone.  In 2008, a dutch development created an application called ” I am Rich ” which costs $999,99, however it had no utility and in less than a day it was banned by Apple from the store. Even so, it’s developer sold 8 copies. Nice huh? :)

Currently, Apple does no longer offer customers applications in the $1,000 price range, however there are a lot of them with the price above $100.
