McLaren officially presented it’s new super car, the MP4-12C model. It’s a sports model with two seats with a twin turbo 3.8 liter engine, developed with the help of the Ricardo company.
It can boost 592 horse power at 7000 RPM. The engine can also reach 8000 RPM. The car reaches 100 KM/h in 3 seconds and the maximum speed is over 300 KM/h.
The power is transmitted by the rear wheels through a transmission with double clutch and seven speed steps, F1 style. It has three driving modes: normal, sport and track.
The car is very compact ( 4507 mm long, 1908mm wide and 1199 mm tall ) and has almost 1300 kg’s in weight due to it’s carbon components. Co2 emissions were reduced, the car giving under 300g/km, lower than it’s rivals, Ferrari 458 Italy and Mercedes Benz SLS AMG. Latest technology can be found in the interior, among which we mention a 7inch touchscreen and wi-fi connection.
