How It’s Made: Ubuntu on HTC Diamond 2

Share

Maybe it may look incredible, but it’s true! Sebbo90 from the Xda Developers forum has managed to take a screenshot of Ubuntu running in Touch Pro 2 and Diamond 2. The first machine offers a better functionality because there is a keyboard and supplemental configurations can be made for WiFi and GPRS access.

I played around only with Diamond 2 and I managed to book, run a task manager and Firefox. For now I don’t have the time but I will create a screenshot which will have a virtual keyboard and will look around to see what else can be made with Ubuntu on Diamond 2.

It’s just a concept who shows that processing power and smartphone resources can be used in other directions. I find it hard to believe that other than me and a few more users, somebody will boot Ubuntu on Diamond 2 or Touch Pro 2 and also use it. I imagine a scenario in which I am ajway and I only have my smartphone with me and I have to rapidly come online to make some modifications. Well, I can always use a VNC.
