Apple bans sex content applications for iPhone

Apple has banned sexual content applications from it’s online store, but some applications like Sport Illustrated Swimsuit, Playboy and FHM, are still for sale.

Last week, Apple made public a new policy for the Apple Store: all applications with explicit sexual content are no longer allowed. This new policy wasn’t officially announced, but it was made public by an email that was sent to software producer Jon Atherton, who forwarded it to TechCrunch.

Atherton is the producer of Wobble iBoobs, an application that allows users to add “balance” zones to models photos. This functionality is classified as “sexual explicit” by Apple. The application was removed from the Apple Store.

The rules seem simple, but they are applied only to unknown applications like Wobble iBoobs, Slideher: Tera Patrick and Dirty Fingers:Screen wash. Big companies with application such as Sports Illustrated and Playboy have a bigger influence. Sports Illustrated Swimsuit is promoted on the first page and it’s on the first place in the Sports category.
